MEDIA ALERT-MA Data Security Law (MGL 93H)

Data security expert, Mike Logan, president of Boston-based Axis Technology and privacy attorney Cynthia Larose, of Boston law firm Mintz Levin are available for interviews regarding the new data security legislation, namely how to prepare, the steps needed to easily comply, and most importantly how to avoid the $5000 penalty that is incurred per each individual record breached. With less than three months before the new law is to be enforced, companies around the Bay State, as well as any company that does business with Mass residents or businesses with Massachusetts locations, are scrambling to figure out just how this legislation is going to affect them.

Two Experts Explain Ramifications of Newly Disclosed Critical Guidelines

Boston, MA: On Thursday, February 12, the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (OCABR) is expected to be releasing the final regulations implementing the most stringent state-level data privacy standards in the country that, starting January 1 2010, will impact every business that has ties to Massachusetts by way of the personal information of Massachusetts residents - no matter how large or small.
